VEERMAN: "WE'RE HAPPY"

The mixed zone was full of smiling faces after the 3-1 win at Bochum. As usual, we jotted down the post-match reaction.

Sami Allagui: "We defended too deeply in the first half. Bochum passed the ball well. We had no grip on the game and yet we still scored twice. It was a good cross from Luca for the first goal. I got a perfect contact – a nice goal. I then gave the assist for the second from the penalty (he laughs). I'll get Henk whatever he wants. The luck was on our side today. We'll take that. We made a change at half-time and that gave us more grip. We want to get the maximum out of the remaining games this year. After the last two games we can set our targets for the second half of the season."

Henk Veerman: "We've ended our run of draws, which was very important. We're happy."

Jan-Philipp Kalla: "We gave Bochum too much space initially but improved in the second half. We had some really good chances to put the game to bed earlier. All in all, we had six or seven chances and scored three - that’s effective. It hasn't always gone the way it's going now. I'm obviously delighted to have made my first appearance of the season and we won the game. I've often played left-back in training, so it was nothing new. After a few bouts of cramp, I felt very good and was able to get forward towards the end. We want to get more points from the two games before the winter break to put ourselves in a good position, but now I'm looking forward to a relaxed journey home."

Luca Zander: "We threw ourselves into every tackle right to the end. We kept trying to capitalise on our opportunities on the break and thankfully we managed to do so with the goal by Mats just before the end. That gave us assurance for the last few minutes. We're happy to have won the game."

Waldemar Sobota: "We played more intelligently than Bochum but could have put the result beyond doubt much earlier. In the end we're happy to have taken the three points."

Philipp Ziereis: "We let them push us back too far, too often, though Bochum did that really well. Wie launched some good counterattacks, however, and made clinical use of our chances. We kept a better shape in the second half and thus defended better but we needed to get that vital third goal. I had the last few weeks on my mind a little. Eventually we got the crucial third goal. We were worth the win the end, even if it was a bit lucky."

Mats Møller Dæhli: "It was the worst way to finish but it went in. I have to thank Henk for playing a superb square ball to me."

Stefano Celozzi (VfL Bochum): "We're obviously disappointed because we wanted to win the game, of course. We gave our all, but St. Pauli also did well. We had a lot of possession and looked to find the gaps, which we were able to do for the equaliser. The third goal at the end was a sickener for us."

Anthony Losilla (VfL Bochum): "St. Pauli played intelligently, countered well and made better use of their chances. We have to be more clinical against such a top side. Our final ball was lacking too often today. We've done a lot of things right recently but didn't get our reward today."
