Møller Dæhli arrives on loan

Mats Møller Dæhli has joined the club from Bundesliga outfit SC Freiburg with immediate effect to become the third and final transfer of the winter break. The 21-year-old midfielder comes to the Millerntor on loan until 30 June 2017.

Møller Dæhli moved to Freiburg from Cardiff City in January 20. At youth level he played for Lyn Oslo (to 2009 and in 2011), Stabaek IF (2010) and Manchester United (2011-2013) before switching to Molde FK (2013) and then Cardiff City (2014). Since making his debut for the Norwegian national team in November 2013, Møller Dæhli has represented his country 13 times in total, scoring one goal.

What they said

Director of sport Andreas Rettig: "In the talks we had before the deal and since Mats left us in no doubt about his determination to take on the role with us – we really liked that. We'd like to thank our friends at Freiburg for the great support with the transfer, which brings our squad planning to an end."

Head coach Ewald Lienen: "Mats Møller Dæhli is the type of player we were looking for. He's versatile and very assured on the ball. We're delighted that the deal has gone through and he will bolster our attack."

Mats Møller Dæhli: "I'm looking forward to the task at St. Pauli. With my quality I want to help the club achieve its aim of staying up. It's a great opportunity for me to improve as a player and get some match practice."
