DOUBLE INJURY BLOW FOR AVEVOR

Our worst fears have been confirmed. Club captain Christopher Avevor sustained a fracture of the fibula and a high ankle sprain in his left leg in a challenge with Daniel Kieta-Ruel during the opening home game against Greuther Fürth on Friday evening.
The extent of the injury was revealed by tests conducted at the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) last night and by club doctor Sebastian Schneider today.
Head coach Jos Luhukay: "It's terrible news for us and especially for Christopher. We'll do everything we can as a team and a club to get Christopher back among us as soon as possible and wish him a speedy recovery from the bottom of our hearts."
The 27-year-old will probably undergo surgery next week and will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.
