After the 3-1 home defeat against Greuther Fürth in the opening home game of the season, we went looking for quotes in the mixed zone.

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "The team put a lot into it and ended up conceding. We said nothing was lost at half-time and we came back out with that conviction. Unfortunately, we were unable to capitalise in that phase but that was no fault of the players. Fürth scored with their first shot in the second half and it was tough after that. It wasn't a question of morale, though. We had a decent side out, but we'd obviously be well advised to keep our eyes and ears open and add some quality if we can. My first impression with Avevor is that the injury is a serious one. It's a blow for any team when your captain's missing. We'll have to wait and see."

Mats Møller Dæhli: "I thought we played very well in the first 20 minutes. Then two crosses came in and they're two-up. That meant they could play on the break and it was difficult for us. Perhaps we could have won possession even higher up the pitch in the second half. We have to improve there. The result is bad, but the performance was good in parts."

Robin Himmelmann: "It isn't a good result from our point of view, of course. We weren't close enough to them in the few situations they had in our box. We created some good chances up front, but it isn't easy to come back after going behind like that. Fürth popped up four times in front of goal altogether, so the result is annoying. At the end of the day we've dropped five out of six points. The two results don't reflect well on us, but we'll look at our mistakes now and try to do better at Lübeck."

Marc Hornschuh: "It's hard to find the words. We started well and then the situation with Jackson happened, which was a real downer. We gave an outstanding performance last week and dominated the first 20 minutes tonight. We then lost our captain and conceded the first goal. I came on after that. Ten minutes later they scored again even though we'd had more of the game. We managed to steady the ship before the break and pulled a goal back. In the second half we went flat out and had a lot of the ball. But then Green scored with a speculative effort from 20 metres. It was a great goal, of course."

Daniel Buballa: "We were a yard too late from the outset but were still in the game even then. We moved the ball around well in the first half and weren't the poorer of the two sides, but still conceded twice far too easily. One of them was offside, so we were lucky there. We didn't get touch-tight, though, and we weren't aggressive enough. We shouldn't be conceding goals as easily as that. It's difficult then. We came back, though, and reduced the deficit. We were back in it and then conceded a third, which was a killer. Three goals at home is too much.

Jan-Philipp Kalla: "I'd have preferred it if the fireworks at the fair next door had been victory fireworks. We were hoping the first home game would go differently, of course. I think the way we performed today was OK. We played football, got stuck in and created lots of chances but didn't defend with the necessary energy when they scored unfortunately. Looking at the stats, Fürth turned six chances into three goals. We scored one from 15. Our defending was negligent, Fürth were clinical in front of goal and we weren't. I still think it was a performance we can build on, though. We now have to make sure we turn it into something tangible. One point from two games is not what we were looking for, of course. We have to keep calm and carry on now. Next up is the cup game and we aim to go through to the next round.
