JANSSEN EXCITED BY FÜRTH CHALLENGE

Next up for the Boys in Brown after the 2-2 home draw against Jahn Regensburg is a trip to Greuther Fürth on Sunday (1330 CET). At the pre-match press conference head coach Olaf Janßen touched on the injury situation and looked ahead to the task against the team sitting next to bottom in the table.

"Apart from long-term casualties Ryo Miyaichi, Marc Hornschuh and Philipp Ziereis, everyone else is available, albeit with one or two minor knocks," said Janßen, cautiously optimistic about his selection options ahead of the trip to Fürth.

"Bernd Nehrig still has a painful foot but can travel," the 51-year-old said. "As for Aziz Bouhaddouz, we've been lucky. He didn't tear anything against Regensburg but he isn't 100% match-fit. I haven't decided whether to start him or keep him as an option for later in the game."

Asked about his tactical approach and his starting lineup, Janßen was unwilling to reveal his hand: "Johannes Flum is rested again after the joys of becoming a father and was on a high even before the birth of his daughter, and Jan-Marc Schneider will definitely be in the squad, which means I could start with two strikers as well."

Janßen has, of course, taken a close look at Sunday's opponents: "In Roberto Hilbert, Daniel Steininger, Philipp Hofmann, Julian Green and Manuel Torres, Fürth coach Damir Buric has a lot of quality at his disposal that he didn't have at Bochum last time out. He also has lots of options for setting up the team in terms of his formation. Fürth's 3-4-3 at Bochum looked very stable, they're dangerous on the counter and they play a compact midfield pressing game."

Janßen said that meant it was even more important to go into the game with the right attitude: "When you're in the drop zone with your backs to the wall like Fürth are, it unleashes energy. They'll throw everything at it. We need to be prepared for that and turn on the turbo on the pitch, so it's an exciting challenge with lots of explosive potential. We're looking forward to going there. Last season it was my first win as assistant coach and Cenk Sahin scored the goal of the month. That 2,000 fans will accompany us to Fürth is outstanding. That alone ought to be motivation enough."
