After the thrilling 4-3 penalty shootout win at VfB Lübeck in the DFB Cup, we spoke to Robin Himmelmann, Marvin Knoll, Daniel Buballa and Christopher Buchtmann.

Robin Himmelmann: "It wasn't the start we were looking for, of course. We went behind and then missed a couple of chances. When that happens, it's as if the goal gets smaller and smaller and there are more and more bodies in the way. We responded really well to their second goal. In extra-time, we needed to play with more intelligence after going 3-2 up so as not to concede again. I'm happy to have played my part in us going through by making the save. And I'm pleased for the lads who converted their penalties. There's still room for improvement in some areas, but reaching the next round is all that matters today. We don't mind who we get now."

Marvin Knoll: "We started well to be fair and should have gone in front but then Lübeck scored with their first chance. We kept getting down the flanks, but the final pass was lacking today. The second goal was down to me, it was a bad clearance. I was desperate to make amends after that. We came back into it, got the equaliser and then took the lead. We have to do better then, simple as that, instead we conceded a stupid equaliser from our own throw-in. In the shootout some penalties didn't go in, others rolled in. We saw it all today. It wasn't our best performance but going through to the next round is all that counts."

Christopher Buchtmann: "It all happened today, but that's the DFB Cup for you. We weren't clever enough in the first half, we lost too many second balls, but it was much better after the break. We were more in the game and had our chances. We should have put the game to bed after going in front but ended up conceding the equaliser. We have to learn from that."

Daniel Buballa: "It was a gruelling game. If you're a fan in the ground, you want to see games like that with six goals, extra-time and a penalty shootout. It doesn't get any better than that from the point of view of the fans, but we made life difficult for ourselves today. You can go behind, OK, but they added another. We came back, though, and showed good morale. We took the lead in extra-time only to suffer yet another setback. Hats off to the lads for coming out on top in the penalty shootout."
