FC St. Pauli have responded to the injury to goalkeeper Svend Brodersen by re-signing Korbinian Müller. The 28-year-old has been out of contract since leaving the club at the end of last season and has now put pen to paper on a deal keeping him at the Millerntor until 30 June 2020.
Reaction to the deal
Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "We're delighted Korbinian said yes so quickly and is back on board. We're sure he can fill the gap that has opened up and help the team with his experience."
Head coach Jos Luhukay: "Korbinian Müller is the ideal solution for us. He knows the club and most of the squad and will therefore settle back in very quickly."
Korbinian Müller: "It's almost as if I never went away. I'm very familiar with the surroundings, of course, and I'm glad to be back. I'd like to help the team have a good season and would like to wish Svend a speedy recovery."
Müller played 13 times for the Under-23s in the fourth-tier Regionalliga Nord last season, keeping eight clean sheets. Before joining the Boys in Brown the first time, he made a total of 115 third-division appearances for Spielvereinigung Unterhaching and Stuttgarter Kickers.
