Director of sport Andreas Bornemann has tied two young talents to the club by handing Marvin Senger and Christian Viet professional contracts that will run until 30 June 2023.
Marvin Senger joined the club from Eintracht Norderstedt at the start of the 2016/17 season and progressed through the youth ranks from the Under-17s to the Under-23s. The 20-year-old centre-back broke into the senior squad last term, making three starts.
Christian Viet arrived from JFV A/O/Heeslingen in January 2017 and ran out for the Under-19s and the Under-23s. He made the transition to the first-team squad in the second half of the season just ended and has made four second-division starts to date.
Reaction to the deals:
Andreas Bornemann, director of sport: " Marvin and Christian have earned their contracts and the trust we are placing in them with good performances. They made their first senior appearances in what was a difficult and unusual phase for us on the pitch and showed they have the potential to play a decent role in the second division. We're delighted they will continue their development at FC St. Pauli."
Marvin Senger: "It's an honour and a huge pleasure for me to sign my first professional contract with FC St. Pauli. I feel the trust of the people in charge and will do my utmost to get more playing time."
Christian Viet: "I'm delighted to sign my first professional contract for FC St. Pauli and be given the opportunity to continue my development here. I'd like to thank everyone who has accompanied and supported me along the way."
