The final home game of the season ended in a 2-1 defeat against Hannover 96. Marvin Ducksch gave the visitors a 13th minute lead before Niklas Hult added a dinked second just short of the hour. Guido Burgstaller halved the deficit 20 minutes from time but that was the end of the scoring. The Boys in Brown were reduced to ten men late on when James Lawrence picked up a second yellow card. On a positive note, Ryo Miyaichi and Christopher Buchtmann both celebrated returns to action following long injury layoffs.

FITTING MILLERNTOR FINALE THE TARGET BUT FANS SORELY MISSED

NEW AWAY SHIRT UNVEILED – SPECIAL "NO FOOTBALL FOR FASCISTS" EDITION
The final home game of the 2020/21 season marks the launch of the new St. Pauli away shirt. And once again, principal sponsors congstar will be freeing up the space on the front of the jersey. Instead of the company logo, the "No football for fascists" slogan coined by the supporters will adorn a special-edition version of the shirt for the visit of Hannover 96.

Tore Reginiussen has decided to hang up his boots this summer. The centre-back, who joined the Boys in Brown after many years of success at Rosenborg BK, announced his retirement on Instagram late on Monday evening.
BOYS IN BROWN HIT FOR FOUR BY EFFECTIVE KIEL
FC St. Pauli, so impressive recently, slipped to a heavy 4-0 defeat at Holstein Kiel on Friday evening, their fourth reverse since the turn of the year. Two goals in three minutes from Ahmet Arslan and Fin Bartels gave Kiel a first-half advantage, with old boy Bartels and Janni Serra stretching their lead after the interval. The Boys in Brown were unable to match the effectiveness of the Storks as they crashed to their biggest defeat of the season.

Despite making a good start to the game, the Schultz XI eventually slumped to a 4-0 defeat at the hands of promotion-chasing Holstein Kiel. After the final whistle, the Boys in Brown had to admit it had been an excellent showing from the home side, who were well worth their win in the end.
