MORALE GOES UNREWARDED IN 3-1 AUGSBURG DEFEAT
FC St. Pauli lost 3-1 at FC Augsburg on Sunday afternoon. Marius Wolf and Phillip Tietz gave the home side a two-goal lead in the second half before Carlo Boukhalfa pulled one back with 15 minutes left. A late rally proved fruitless, however, when Yusuf Kabadayi killed the game off in time added on.

BOYS IN BROWN AWAY TO LEIPZIG IN DFB CUP ROUND 2
FC St. Pauli were handed an away tie at Leipzig when the draw for the second round of the DFB Cup was made at the German Football Museum in Dortmund on Sunday evening. The game will take place on either Tuesday, 29 October or Wednesday, 30 October, with the precise time to be announced by the DFB in due course.

As in the game against Heidenheim, our Boys in Brown produced a good performance at Union Berlin for large parts of the game but were left empty-handed after the final whistle again. After the game, the Boys in Brown looked back at the 90 minutes played with mixed feelings once again.

Narrow defeat for the Boys in Brown - Hollerbach nets winner for Union Berlin
FC St. Pauli lost 1-0 in the away game at Union Berlin on Friday night (30.8). In front of the crowd of 22,012, our Boys in Brown started the game brightly before Union upped the pressure and scored to take a lead with a deflected shot from Benedict Hollerbach (34'). Our team came back into the game in the middle of the second half but the hoped-for leveller did not come despite determined efforts up front.

Due to not converting chances, however, it would ultimately count for nothing against a clinical Heidenheim side. After the final whistle, coach and players looked back on the game with mixed feelings.

0-2 against an efficient FCH - Boys in Brown lose on Bundesliga comeback
On the club's return to the Bundesliga, FC St. Pauli lost 0-2 (0-0) against 1. FC Heidenheim. In front of a crowd of 29,157, goals from Paul Wanner (67) and Jan Schöppner (82) gave the visitors the victory. After an even opening 15 minutes, the Boys in Brown were the better team, but failed to capitalise on multiple chances. Heidenheim by contrast clinically took advantage of their two second-half chances and left the Millerntor with all three points.
