DERBY GOALS AND A CLEAR STANCE: ALL THE BEST, SIMON MAKIENOK!
Simon Makienok and FC St. Pauli were simply a great fit. The Danish striker quickly became a crowd favourite, but after two seasons the time has come to say goodbye! Makienok, who arrived from Dynamo Dresden in the summer of 2020, made a total of 49 competitive appearances for the club, contributing eight goal and four assists.

The 2-0 home win over Fortuna Düsseldorf on the final day saw the Boys in Brown finish the 2021/22 campaign in fifth place. With the season now over, director of sport Andreas Bornemann and head coach took time out to answer a host of questions from the media.

Farewell Seb, James, Rico and Matze! You’ll never walk alone!
Rico Benatelli and James Lawrence made their final appearances for the club in Sunday's 2-0 home win over Fortuna Düsseldorf. Likewise, goalkeeper coach Mathias Hain looked on from the dugout for the last time, while the injured Sebastian Ohlsson followed the proceedings from the stands. The quartet were given a send-off in the ground immediately after the final whistle, but the club would now like to formally bid farewell to Ohlsson, Lawrence, Benatelli and Hain and thank them for their service in the brown-and-white colours!

Farewell Zier, Buchti and Finn Ole! You’ll never walk alone!
Finn Ole Becker, who joined the club in 2011, Christopher Buchtmann (2012) and Philipp Ziereis (2013) graced the Millerntor turf for the last time in the 2-0 home win over Fortuna Düsseldorf. The trio were given a send-off in the ground immediately after the final whistle, but the club would now like to formally bid farewell to Becker, Buchtmann and Ziereis and thank them for a total of 30 years of service in the brown-and-white colours!

BOYS IN BROWN SIGN OFF WITH EMOTIONAL WIN OVER DÜSSELDORF
FC St. Pauli secured a 2-0 win over Fortuna Düsseldorf on Sunday to end the 2021/22 season with another three-point haul on home soil. The Boys in Brown dominated the proceedings but were unable to take their chances in the first half, but goals from Marcel Hartel and Adam Dźwigała after the break gave then a deserved victory.

Boys in Brown out to sign off with a win against Düsseldorf
A season with plenty of ups and also a few downs comes to an end on Sunday when the Boys in Brown host Fortuna Düsseldorf at the Millerntor. Unfortunately, the 3-2 defeat at Schalke means there is nothing left to play for, but the Schultz XI are still determined to sign off from the fans with a win on the final day.
