DŹWIGAŁA: "I HAVE TO WAIT FOR MY CHANCE"

The Boys in Brown continued their preparations for the visit of Hannover 96 with two high-intensity shifts on Wednesday. In between sessions, the defensive utility player Adam Dźwigała fielded questions from the Hamburg media.

Adam Dźwigała on...

...ending the winless run at Regensburg: "The three points were important for us. After five games without a win we needed them to get back on the right track. We want to win every game we play, but in football it's very rare for a team to win every game. There are always phases when things go better or worse."

...the hectic closing stages at Regensburg: "It wasn't easy to get into the game. Regensburg hit a lot of long balls in the closing stages and we had our work cut out to defend our lead. We had three central defenders on the pitch in the end. We made it, though, and managed to win the game. That's the most important thing."

...his versatility: "I came to the Millerntor as a defender just over a year ago but I have played in midfield and at right-back before. All the positions are OK for me, but I see my main position in central defence."

...his first goal in the win at Nürnberg: "I played on the right side of defence that day which allowed me to get involved up front quite often. The goal means a lot to me. Every goal does you good as a defender. It was a special moment because I hadn't played much before that."

...the Hamburg weather and all the rain recently: "Training in the rain is a lot of fun. It's the best weather for a footballer. I like it. I come from Poland and it rains a lot there as well."

...the season so far and his fringe role: "I want to play, just like any other player, but the success of the team is the most important thing. If the team's successful, I have to wait for my chance and always be ready. That's what I'm doing. I'm doing all I can to be on good form before and during a game."

...his contract, which expires in summer: "I'd like to stay. We've had talks but there's no decision yet."

...the forthcoming home game against Hannover 96: "I'm ready for the game but it's up to the coach. A tough game awaits us against Hannover same as every other game. We all know how good the teams are in the second division. The level in this league is very high. We want to impose ourselves on the game and win it."
