Bornemann handed new deal

FC St. Pauli have made a key personnel decision for the future and rewarded Andreas Bornemann with a contract extension. The 49-year-old assumed the role of director of sport in in July 2019 and has headed up the club's professional football operations since then.

President Oke Göttlich: "The contract extension is an important signal of our intention to continue along the ambitious path we embarked upon with Andreas Bornemann. Over the last two years he has driven forward a development that has had a positive influence on our professional football operations in a host of areas in extremely challenging times. The difficult season just ended showed that adhering to our common perspective for the football section and our commitment to continuity are paying off. We are convinced by the work and attitude of Andreas Bornemann and are delighted to have reached an agreement on a continuation of our working relationship."

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "I think we've made good progress over the last two years, but we still have lots of work ahead of us. The continued development of the team has top priority, of course, but we also want to improve our infrastructure and the work of our youth academy. We have a common concept and I really enjoy putting our ideas for the future of the club into practice."
