AVEVOR TO CONTINUE AS CAPTAIN - KNOLL NEW DEPUTY

The question of who will skipper the Boys in Brown this season has been settled. After Robin Himmelmann, Christopher Avevor, Daniel Buballa, Philipp Ziereis and Marvin Knoll were voted onto the five-man players' committee during training camp, head coach Timo Schultz has now named Avevor as team captain.

"Jackson is a great guy who's held in high regard within the squad," said head coach Timo Schultz of his old and new captain. “He's always positive, he leads from the front, and he encourages the young players as well. He also knows when to express criticism, including of his teammates.”

Avevor had already served as captain last season. The centre-back only led the team out in the first two league games against Arminia Bielefeld and Greuther Fürth, however, after picking up a serious injury in the latter fixture.

Schultz also named defensive utility player Marvin Knoll to succeed Daniel Buballa and Jan-Philipp Kalla as Avevor's deputy.

Marvin Knoll captained the Boys in Brown in the dress rehearsal against SønderjyskE and will serve as Avevor's deputy this season.
