Becker opts not to extend his contract

Midfielder Finn Ole Becker has informed director of sport Andreas Bornemann and head coach Timo Schultz of his intention not to extend his contract with the club, which is due to expire in summer, and to join Bundesliga outfit TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
"In recent weeks and months the signs have been there that Finn Ole did not want to extend his contract, so in that respect, the decision does not come as a surprise to us," said Andreas Bornemann.
Having made his decision, Becker, a homegrown talent who has been with the club since 2011, is clear in his mind: "I'll be totally focused on FC St. Pauli until the final day of the season and will do my utmost to ensure the second half of the campaign is a successful one."
