ZIEREIS: "WE HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE POINT"

Following the 1-1 draw for FC St. Pauli against VfL Bochum, we went in search of reaction in the mixed zone. The Boys in Brown were hoping for more than just the point but, in the end, the draw was unanimously seen as a fair result.

Robin Himmelmann: "We went into the game with the right aggression. Of course, we conceded an early goal, but we did have several good opportunities: Waldi's shot against the post, then the goal and Leo's header from a corner. In the second half, we were too impatient in possession to create decisive moves like we did in the first half. At times we came close to making it 2-1. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, so we have to settle for a point. We haven't picked up many points between the two international breaks. We need to put that behind us. We need to take the positives and then ensure we play our game and show that energy for 90 minutes."

Waldemar Sobota: "It feels like we're improving but we haven't got the results we wanted in the four games since the last international break. I think we're on the right track, though. We need to be more ambitious in the final third to score more goals and win games. My first shot on goal was better, but didn't go in. I didn't want to hit the second full on as I knew the keeper had a defender in front of him. He saw it late and wasn't able to react. The first half was better for the fans. In the end both teams wanted the three points, but it didn't happen. Of course, it's a blow because we were at home and really wanted the three points before the international break."

Philipp Ziereis: "We have to live with a point today because we weren't really in the game in the last 20 minutes. We conceded too early in the first half but then deservedly equalised. Up to the 70th minute it was an evenly-balanced game with both sides looking to land a blow. But we couldn't really keep the pressure up. We had some corners and the ball could have dropped for us with a bit of luck. Neither side wanted to take too great a risk, given what's happened in recent games. The positive is that we didn't concede late on."

Mats Møller Dæhli: "We had some good phases and had to score. Now we have to settle for a point. We'll come out of this difficult phase, we're working hard on it. I believe in the team. After yesterday's training session I had a problem with my left ankle. During the game it was painful with every turn. We'll have it checked out now. Perhaps the joint is just stiff."

Johannes Flum: "Bochum did really well. We didn't show as much penetration up front today as we have in the last two games. We wanted to the keep it tight at the back. We wanted to win but couldn't find the winner in the end. In games like that you can get a set piece to settle it but unfortunately Knolli's free kick didn't go in. Conceding the early goal was a blow, but we showed our resolve straightaway and looked to get forward. In the end it wasn't enough for three points, but we’ll take the one point. We're on the right track even if today wasn't our best day at the office. We didn't get the result unfortunately."

Danilo Soares (VfL Bochum): "We didn't play a great game, but it was good. The important thing is to pick up a point away from home."

Anthony Losilla (VfL Bochum): "We've been more solid for a couple of weeks. We’re giving away fewer chances and that's a positive. It was end-to-end action today and we can be happy with the point. We could have won but equally St. Pauli could also have come out on top. Both teams had their chances. We started well, then eased off but we remained solid and didn't give much away."
