Dźwigała handed new deal

FC St. Pauli have decided to extend their association with versatile defender Adam Dźwigała, 26, and renewed his contract, which was due to expire on 30 June 2022. The Warsaw-born player made 23 competitive appearances last season, scoring two goals. He joined the Boys in Brown in December 2020 after spells with clubs in Portugal and his native Poland.
Reaction to the contract extension
Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "Adam is an experienced and extremely reliable player who can fill various roles in the defensive unit. He has made steady progress over the last two years and shown how important he can be for us with his versatility, especially in the season just ended."
Head coach Timo Schultz: "We're delighted to be continuing our association with Adam. He's a fantastic team player who is strong in the tackle, absolutely reliable and offers the variability we'll continue to need next season."
Adam Dźwigała: "I feel very much at home at FC St. Pauli and in Hamburg and so I'm happy to be able to continue playing here. I'll keep giving my all to help the team and achieve the club's objectives."
