St. Pauli won 2-0 at Eintracht Braunschweig on Sunday. Superb morale and an outstanding Robin Himmelmann ensured the Boys in Brown return to Hamburg with all three points. Here's all the post-match reaction.
Robin Himmelmann: "We had no grip up front in the first half and allowed Baffo to knock long balls up to the strikers. We have to look at that. The way we came back was so much better. The most important thing is that we won. And if I can play a part in that, all the better."
Christopher Buchtmann: "We lacked bite early on. In the second half we were better in that respect. It was important to keep a clean sheet today. Robin did well to keep us in the game. We know we're good on the break and that's how we got the goals. We shouldn't underestimate how good Braunschweig are at home. We now go home with a smile on our faces."
Christopher Avevor: "We made a really bad start to the game and gave Braunschweig far too much space. We all have Robin to thank, without him it would have been a different story. That said, for us to come back like that is not a given. We set out to take back control of the game and Buchti and Cenk were outstanding. We needed that."
Waldemar Sobota: "It was a crucial win for us. You saw what a key player Buchti is for us. He came on and rewarded himself straightaway. We're well placed in the table now but there's still lots of room for improvement and we'll work hard on that during the international break."
Uwe Stöver: "It was a game of two halves today. We bowed down to a strong Braunschweig side early on but the way the team came back after the break was excellent. Robin guaranteed us the points today. We have to thank him."
Steffen Nkansah (Braunschweig): "It's very annoying to lose. We have to take the lead early on and make better use of our chances. St. Pauli did well after that and we no longer had any grip on the game. We have to take the blame for not getting our reward today."
