BUBALLA SIGNS NEW TWO-YEAR DEAL

Daniel Buballa has been a member of the club's senior squad since the start of the 2014/15 season. The 28-year-old left-back has now made it clear that he continues to see his future with the Boys in Brown by agreeing terms with director of sport Uwe Stöver on an extension of his contract until 30 June 2021. Since his move to the Millerntor from then league rivals VfR Aalen, Buballa has made 134 second division appearances (one goal) for the club plus five in the DFB Cup.

Reaction to the new deal

Director of sport Uwe Stöver: "In his time at St. Pauli, Daniel has seen off all the competition in the left-back position and established himself as a first-team regular. That is why we endeavoured to keep him. We're glad to continue with him."

Head coach Markus Kauczinski: "Daniel is a thoroughbred professional who leads from the front with his tireless approach and has thus been a constituent part of the team for a long time. He takes on lots of responsibility in the dressing room and serves as a role model for the young players. I'm happy he's staying."

Daniel Buballa: "It was an easy decision to extend my contract. I feel very much at home here and I'm looking forward to another two years at FC St. Pauli."
