CONTEH MAKES CLEAR COMMITMENT TO CLUB

After recent speculation in the press about whether Christian Conteh would leave FC St. Pauli before the end of his contract, the attacking player has made a clear commitment to the club. Accordingly, the 20-year-old is staying put.

"A lot has been written about me recently," said Conteh. "I want to say that I've spoken to the people in charge again and given them a clear signal that I have no intention of leaving the club. I'm very happy here and feel the trust of the coach and the club – which is very important to me. In addition, I don't feel I've been given the best advice. I will therefore probably look to make some changes in this respect. My focus now is on getting fit again so I can return to the pitch as soon as possible. I'm doing all I can for that. I want to play football, that's the most important thing for me."

"We're glad the speculation about Christian is over," said director of sport Andreas Bornemann. "The last few days won't have been easy for him. He's a young player who's had to make this experience. For him it's now about looking forward and concentrating on his rehab so he can resume full training as quickly as possible."
