FC St. Pauli

Engelbracht was born in Bochum in 1973 and brings demonstrable expertise in the areas of finance, corporate finance, digitalisation, marketing and sales. After many years at the media company Bertelsmann, Engelbracht led the financial and marketing activities of VfL Bochum in the role of commercial director and managing board member from 2014 to 2018. On departing the Ruhr, he spent five years as a managing partner at Cusp Capital Partners, an international investment holding for digital technology companies.

Göttlich said Engelbracht was very much the preferred candidate to fill the vacant position. "Wilken has all the attributes and expertise we were after. He's analytical, a strong leader and has many years of professional experience in the football and finance business. That he’s also been a St. Pauli member for several years didn't do him any harm either. We're delighted that he'll be driving the club forward with his expertise at a time when we find ourselves having to deal with rapid change and make groundbreaking decisions in the financing and marketing of professional football.
