Having already secured the signatures of Rico Benatelli and Luca Zander, the Boys in Brown have added another piece to their squad with the capture of striker Boris Tashchy from MSV Duisburg.
The 25-year-old Ukrainian has agreed terms on a three-year deal with director of sport Andreas Bornemann and arrives on a free transfer. In a two-year spell in Duisburg he made 54 competitive appearances for the Zebras, scoring 13 goals.
Reaction to the deal
Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "Boris brings lots of very good attributes. He's a physically robust player with lots of aggression and desire and a good mentality, which makes him a good addition to our strikers, Dimitrios Diamantakos and Henk Veerman. Jos knows Boris from his time at VfB Stuttgart and knows his strengths. Boris is fit again after a long time out injured last season and we hope he can build on his performances in the season before that, when he was a significant factor in a good campaign for MSV Duisburg with 11 goals and three assists."
Head coach Jos Luhukay: "With his ability and his mentality, Boris is a great fit for the club and with his quality he will invigorate our attacking play and give us even more options. I'm happy to have another decent alternative for the attack."
Boris Tashchy: "I can't wait to attack for FC St. Pauli at the Millerntor and I'm looking forward to the team, the fans and the new task."
