FC St Pauli to play Dunfermline Athletic FC

FC St. Pauli will travel to Scotland to face Dunfermline Athletic FC on 23 June in preparation for the upcoming season. The Scottish football club from Dunfermline, the second largest town in the former coal-mining region of Fife, are also known as The Pars and currently play in Scottish League One.

According to current plans, the FC St. Pauli team will travel to Scotland from 22 to 24 June, and a delegation from the club will be there for longer. The match is the highlight of the visit to Scotland. President Oke Göttlich emphasises that he is very delighted that FC St. Pauli is able to realise such a trip in order to expand the friendships to Scotland. "We are very happy to have many fans abroad as well and to be able to visit our friends in Scotland."

Business Director Bernd von Geldern also underlined the importance of international cooperation and in this context thanked Thomas Meggle, with whom FC St. Pauli cooperated closely in planning the trip and the match.

DAFC CEO David Cook commented: “We are extremely excited to bring FC St Pauli to the UK to play an exhibition match in front of their huge UK fanbase. With the club’s connection to FC St Pauli via our board member Thomas Meggle, it is something we have been working on for some time. We know local Pars fans will be excited to see one of Germany’s best supported teams come to Fife to play this summer. Furthermore, our aim is to create further fan events in the City over the weekend to provide a brilliant experience for supporters of both clubs. We will announce more information shortly around ticketing and supplementary events.”

Dunfermline is the ancient capital of Scotland and steeped in history. Based in the central belt of Scotland, it's within 20 minutes of the capital Edinburgh and one hour of Glasgow, with excellent transport links between them all.
