FC St. Pauli to play friendly at Coventry City

The Boys in Brown will face the English Championship outfit at Coventry Building Society Arena on 2 August. Kick-off is at 15.30 local time. Information on tickets for the game will be announced via the club’s official channels in due course.

Last season the Sky Blues ended a successful campaign in fifth place to qualify for the Championship play-offs, only to suffer a narrow semi-final defeat at the hands of Sunderland, who went on to win promotion to the Premier League.

The Boys in Brown began their pre-season preparations after a seven-week break on Thursday in front of around 150 fans at the Kollau training complex. Head coach Alexander Blessin focused on work with the ball in the first session back.

Treu joins SC Freiburg

Philipp Treu is leaving FC St. Pauli for SC Freiburg after a two-year spell at the Millerntor. The two clubs have agreed not to release any details of the deal. The versatile full-back arrived from Freiburg’s second string in the summer of 2023 and went on to make 65 competitive appearances for the Boys in Brown, scoring one goal and providing eight assists.
