FINAL HOME GAME ENDS ALL-SQUARE

St. Pauli signed off in their last home match with a 1-1 draw against Greuther Fürth in front of 29,546 fans at the Millerntor. Robert Zulj gave the visitors the lead in the 37th minute before Lasse Sobiech restored parity on 70. The Boys in Brown go into Sunday's 34th and final game at Bochum (1530 CET) ninth in the table.
Head coach Ewald Lienen placed his faith in the same eleven players who won 2-1 at Kaiserslautern last time out. Before kick-off the club bade farewell to loan players Mats Møller-Dæhli and Lennart Thy, who are returning to SC Freiburg and Werder Bremen respectively. PA announcer Rainer Wulff also took to the mike for the final time after a career spanning 31 years.
Lienen's side kicked off hoping to conjure up the perfect send-off with a win over Fürth. The opening stages were light on action, however, attempts by Cenk Sahin after 12 minutes and Daniel Steininger on 20 providing the only highlights. But then Robert Zulj gave the visitors the lead eight minutes before the break when he nodded home Patrick Sontheimer's cross at the back post. Aziz Bouhaddouz had an opportunity to level the scores in first-half stoppage time, but his shot was stopped by Fürth goalkeeper Balasz Megyeri.
The Boys in Brown made a bright start to the second period but were unable to carve out any clear-cut chances in the opening stages. On the positive side, they did manage to cancel out the attacking efforts of the visitors. Bouhaddouz had a chance with an acrobatic effort after a quick break on 64, but his effort flew over the crossbar. The equaliser finally arrived from a set piece seven minutes later. Christopher Buchtmann whipped the ball into the middle, where Lasse Sobiech climbed highest to steer a header past Megyeri. Lienen's side went out in search of a winner in the closing stages but it ended 1-1, a result that was a fair reflection of the proceedings.
