HEERWAGEN JOINS INGOLSTADT

FC St. Pauli and Philipp Heerwagen have gone separate ways. The 35-year-old goalkeeper has joined FC Ingolstadt with immediate effect on a one-year deal to the end of the season.

"Philipp approached us with the request to leave the club and join FC Ingolstadt," said director of sport Uwe Stöver. "We would have liked to have kept him and tried to persuade him to stay, but due to the service he has given St. Pauli on and off the pitch we eventually agreed to grant his request. We wish Philipp all the very best in Ingolstadt."

"I'm very grateful to the club and everyone involved for making this new sporting challenge possible," said Philipp Heerwagen. "My ties to the community of values that is FC St. Pauli and its members remain intact irrespective of my move."

Heerwagen made a total of 24 competitive appearances for the first team over the last five seasons.
