Goalkeeper Robin Himmelmann is training away from the rest of the squad under an agreement reached by the player, his agent and club officials. The 31-year-old began working individually with goalkeeper coach Mathias Hain on Monday.

"We on the coaching team decided to make a change in the goalkeeper position," said head coach Timo Schultz. “The fact that Robin is no longer our No1 is solely a football decision. With the signing of Dejan Stojanović, we have a completely different situation between the posts. Robin and the club will now use the next few days to find a solution that makes sense for both sides.”

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann added: "Robin has done nothing wrong and has been neither suspended nor released. The decision has nothing to do with personal qualities, it's purely a football decision. It’s now a question of finding an arrangement that sees us best placed to face the difficult tasks to come."
