"BY FAR THE WORST 45 MINUTES THIS SEASON" – THE POST-MATCH REACTION

The Boys in Brown lost at home for the first time since early March on Saturday afternoon, going down 4-0 against FC Ingolstadt. After the match there was a huge sense of disappointment in the St. Pauli camp. Here's all the post-match reaction.
Andreas Rettig: "That's the first time since I've been here that I was able to go in at half-time feeling relaxed. If the plan was not to expend too much energy before the three-match week, then it worked. We essentially knocked the goals in ourselves, but that wasn't because of the changes made to the team."
Bernd Nehrig: "It's obviously not a nice moment and for me almost inexplicable. In our last two matches we were strong at the back and hardly put a foot wrong. We have to be concerned about today's showing, and that includes me. It was one of my worst performances. The positive thing is that the defeat will only hang over us for three days rather than a week. It's better to take a deserved battering once and then regroup with the incentive to do better at Kiel on Tuesday."
Waldemar Sobota: "That was our worst 45 minutes of the season by some distance. It was all over by half-time. We were half a yard slower almost every time and lost the key situations. Ingolstadt showed their quality. If there's anything positive to take from today it's the fact we fought for every ball after half-time."
Luca Zander: "It's hard to explain today's game. We didn't make things very easy for ourselves. We have to keep a cool head if we concede an early goal. It can't be that things go downhill like that if we let one in. We now have to recover well and go to Kiel fully fit. We have to do better there."
Marc Hornschuh: "We didn't get into the challenges today. We weren't compact and made too many simple mistakes, which Ingolstadt punished with clinical efficiency. At Kiel we have to be fully focused again and show the qualities that made us stand out in recent weeks."
Marvin Matip: "I'm really proud of the team. We finally got our reward. The first half should be the template for the coming weeks. The players sent out a very clear signal today about the direction we need to go."
Christian Träsch: "We came with big intentions and wanted to take all three points. We set out to create lots of pressure and not allow St. Pauli to get into the game, which we did very well."
