BUCHTMANN: "THAT WAS NOTHING TODAY"

After the 2-1 defeat at Holstein Kiel, we spoke to some very disappointed players in the mixed zone about a performance no one could be happy with.

Director of sport Uwe Stöver: "It's not enough for sporting success. The most important thing for us now is to start playing and performing again in a way that will get us results and finish the last six matches as well as possible. We have to get that into our heads. There's no point in taking the plaudits for two-thirds of the season. It's about finishing a 34-game season as high as possible. In the last four matches we've done nothing to achieve our objective. Ultimately, it's down to all of us to turn it round and find a way out of this crisis, but you can only do that with unrelenting effort and passion because you don't get anything for nothing. We have to play with more courage, aggression and desire. These are things that have gone missing."

Alex Meier: "It's very frustrating, especially when you're a man up and have it all in your own hands, so it's bitterly disappointing to lose, of course. Only the last 15 minutes of the first half and the last 15 minutes of the second half were OK from us. Kiel were better for the rest of the game, even with ten men, so it wasn't as if they weren't worth their win, even though we could have equalised towards the end. We didn't deserve it today."

Svend Brodersen: "Kiel were the better team in the first 30 minutes, but when we scored and they had a man sent off, I thought that would open it up for us. When your opponents are a man down, you have to work them hard and keep running at them, but we totally failed to do that after the interval and instead we conceded both goals. We had our chances towards the end, one of them has to go in. When all's said and done, we didn't deserve it today."

Christopher Buchtmann: "No need to mince our words, that was nothing today. A man up after the break we wanted to add a second goal but instead we gifted them two. When we're a man to the good, we have to make them run and play football, but we didn't manage that. We have to get over it now, it was a body blow for us."

Mats Møller Dæhli: "We weren't able to defend our lead, which you have to do when you're a man more. We're all hugely disappointed. I can't be happy with my own performance. It was bad. I can only apologise to the fans, they have every right to be frustrated."
