KAISERSLAUTERN FACT FILE

St. Pauli travel to Kaiserslautern full of confidence after the 3-0 defeat of Heidenheim last week, their fourth win in a row. Our fact file contains all the information you need to know ahead of Friday's game.

Defensive specialists

With three games left to play Kaiserslautern sit twelfth in the table, one place behind the Boys in Brown. In terms of clean sheets, however, the Red Devils lead the way on 14 alongside Hannover 96. First-choice goalkeeper Julian Pollersbeck has managed 13 shutouts in 28 appearances, while his deputy, André Weis, has one.

Home specialists

Kaiserslautern have won just twice away from home on their way to 12 points from a total of 38. That leaves them languishing in 15th place in the away table. At home it is a rather different story. The Red Devils have registered seven victories at the Fritz Walter Stadium and a total of 26 points. The 15 matches on the Betzenberg have produced a measly 22 goals, however, the lowest total in the league. Having conceded just seven times in those 15 matches, Kaiserslautern have the league's best home defensive record.

Lead specialists

Only Karlsruhe have taken the lead fewer times (10) than Kaiserslautern (12). Once they do go in front, however, the Red Devils, like Hannover, Union Berlin and Sandhausen, don't go to lose. Norbert Meier's side have won nine times after going ahead and drawn three.

Goal drought

Only two sides have still to reach the 30-goal mark this season. Already-relegated Karlsruhe have scored a meagre 22 goals, while Lautern made it to 27 after their recent 3-1 win there. The Red Devils may have kept 14 clean sheets but they have also failed to score in the same number of matches. Their leading scorers are Jacques Zoua and Osayamen Osawe, both of whom have found the net six times. Robert Glatzel and Marcel Gaus follow on four. None of their 27 goals have been scored by a defender. Twenty have come from strikers, five from midfielders and two have been own goals.

Ever-present Mwene

To go an entire season without missing a minute is some achievement, especially if you're an outfield player. Kaiserslautern's Phillipp Mwene is well placed to do just that, along with five goalkeepers and Aue defender Steve Breitkreuz. Mwene, the No21 on the above photo, has to tread carefully, though, as he'll be hit by a one-match ban if he picks up another booking. The 23-year-old FCK right-back was already on four yellow cards after 12 games but has not been cautioned since.

Betzenberg only half-full

A total of 374,058 fans have seen Kaiserslautern's 15 home matches so far, an average of 24,937. With a stadium capacity of 49,790, that means the Betzenberg has been 50.1 per cent full this season. By way of comparison, the average attendance at the Millerntor is 29,392 (470,276 spectators in total) and has therefore been 99.5 per cent full – the highest in the second division.
