LOUBONGO-M'BOUNGOU SIGNS PROFESSIONAL TERMS FROM 2020

FC St. Pauli have secured the services of another top talent long term. Director of sport Uwe Stöver has handed Aurel Loubongo-M'Boungou a professional contract that will run from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2022.

The 17-year-old, who joined the Boys in Brown in 2013 after spells with TuRa Harksheide and HSV, is a member of the Germany Under-18 squad that will gather for a training camp in Duisburg later this month.

Reaction to the deal:

Uwe Stöver, director of sport: "Aurel is another top talent who will make the transition from the academy to the senior squad, which is an indication of the porosity between the two areas. The cultivation of young talent for the professional level is an important pillar on the football side."

Roger Stilz, head of the youth academy: "I've known Aurel for more than two years. He's come on positively in this time. Aurel is a brave and impudent winger and always an awkward opponent, both in defence and in attack. He's quick and a good dribbler. His contract is a nice signal that should serve as an incentive for the other academy players."

Aurel Loubongo-M'Boungou: "Signing professional terms for FC St. Pauli means a great deal to me. I have the trust of all those in charge. The club have always been behind me and I've always been behind the club. My goal now is to keeping working on my game to ensure I've had the best possible preparation when I switch to the professional squad in 2020."
