With around four weeks to go until the start of the new season, we are pleased to present our new home shirt in association with Under Armour. The design is simple with no fancy trim and reflects the down-to-earthness of a club that is deeply rooted in its local community.

The red and white hoops of previous years have made way for an all-brown look that is functional and focused on the basics. One special detail is hidden away in the neck of the shirt, where embroidered FC ST. PAULI lettering is adorned with three symbols – heart, star and anchor – that will be familiar to fans and players alike. The "heart of St. Pauli", the Marian star of Hamburg's former cathedral, borrowed from the city's coat of arms and the club crest, and the anchor symbolising this shipping city are a homage to home and an expression of the club's deep connectedness with the stands.

"The feedback from the players on the new home shirt has been really positive," said commercial director Andreas Rettig. "We like the simple, minimalist design, though the functionality is obviously more important than the look. In this respect, the Under Armour team have done another top-class job. The shirts fit perfectly and will give the players a good feeling during games. Stadium food and the shirt are topics of heated discussion at every club but I'm confident the reaction of the fans will be positive in this regard."

The new home shirt, like the ones that have gone before it, is made from Under Armour HeatGear® material, which is particularly light, dries really fast and keeps the wearer cool and dry. Mesh inserts deliver strategic ventilation, ensuring the players can rely on feeling dry even when the going gets tough, while the innovative 4-way stretch material moves perfectly in every direction.
