NEHRIG HAILS RECOVERY AFTER INDIFFERENT START

After the 2-0 win at FC Nürnberg we spoke to some very relieved Boys in Brown in the mixed zone.

Bernd Nehrig: "Despite the first 20 minutes you have to take your hat off to the way we came back, countered well and played some decent football. Today we did what we didn't do on Tuesday and that's score. And when you do that, you win games like this one. At the back we all got stuck in and tried to stop them scoring. We managed to do that again and at the other end we put our chances away, which is why we're well worth the win."

Philipp Heerwagen: "The players put in an incredible amount of effort. Our defensive orientation was very fatiguing but we thought we'd have more options in that formation and you saw that hard work has its rewards. We had a few critical moments to negotiate but we're still alive. It's been a tiring week but we have to put it behind us now, lick our wounds and get ready to face Würzburg at the Millerntor. I can't wait!"

Aziz Bouhaddouz: "It wasn't my best performance, to be honest, but you have games like that and sometimes you're simply in the right place. I'm a grafter who works hard for the team, but somehow it didn't work out tonight. Perhaps I was a bit short of strength. It was better in the second half. We created some chances and I'm so happy it turned out well for us. When I celebrated the second goal I was thinking back to our training sessions. That drill's called the baby stork (he laughs)."

Christopher Buchtmann: "We weren't in the game for the first 20 minutes. We didn't tackle well and didn't keep hold of the ball but after that it was very good. I think we deserved to win. We scrapped and got stuck in and then we played some good football. The way we stuck together was so important. That's the only way to fight against relegation."
