Otto completes Sandhausen switch

David Otto has left FC St. Pauli to join SV Sandhausen after the 24-year-old striker and the two clubs reached agreement on a deal, under which no details of the transfer will be disclosed.

Otto moved to the Millerntor from TSG Hoffenheim in the summer of 2022 after spending the 2021/22 season on loan at Jahn Regensburg. He made a total of 27 Bundesliga 2 and two DFB Cup appearances for the Boys in Brown, scoring three goals in the process.

Reaction to the move:

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "I'd like to thank David for his efforts on behalf of FC St. Pauli and wish him all the best for his future career. He worked on his development with persistence and absolute professionalism while with us. His desire for a new challenge is understandable because we can't offer him any guarantees for more playing time due to the competition for places in the squad."

David Otto: "I'd like to thank my teammates, the staff, the club and the fans for the time we spent together in Hamburg, from which I'll take lots of positives with me. That's why the decision to move wasn’t an easy one, but I want to take the opportunity to show what I can do again and stake a claim for regular first-team action. I wish FC St. Pauli lots of success this season."
