Presidential board team completed for 15 November vote

Following the nomination of Oke Göttlich for re-election as club president, the candidates for the remaining vice-president positions – Luise Gottberg, Hanna Obersteller and Jochen Winand – are now confirmed. The supervisory board has scrutinised the proposed candidates in accordance with the club constitution and has come out in favour of the nominations.

Jochen Winand has accompanied Oke Göttlich since the latter was first elected president in 2014. Winand serves as the link to local politics, oversees the club’s future-driven infrastructure projects and has been a constant of trust on the presidential board for more than ten years.

Luise Gottberg and Hanna Obersteller have brought their expertise to the board for one and two years respectively – Gottberg in the Club pillar, which covers the areas Legal, Fans and Members, Obersteller in the Business pillar, with the areas Finance, Human Resources and Organisational Development. The Sport pillar is headed by Göttlich.

“The club stands for a special linkage of professional football, social responsibility and financial solidity which allows for modern and alternative ideas,” said supervisory board chair Kathrin Deumelandt. “We need expertise, continuity and connectedness to keep FC St. Pauli on track, so we’re delighted that Luise, Hanna and Jochen wish to continue working on behalf of the club in part-time or voluntary roles.”

Thank you, Esin Rager

Esin Rager has served as vice-president since 2021 and is a founder member of the FCSP cooperative but will not be standing for re-election to the presidential board. She is set to take on a new role as a trustee of the Kultur Palast Hamburg Foundation and continues to look after her business activities. She will remain a trusted advisor to the presidential board and member of the club.

Göttlich thanked Rager for her tremendous contribution to FC St. Pauli in the area of sustainability and confirmed that the club will continue her successful work. “With her expertise, Esin has taken the club a considerable step forward in the area of sustainability and circular economy. She’s built the Strategy, Change and Sustainability department under the leadership of Franziska Altenrath, who ensures that decisions taken by the club always integrate ecological and social considerations. I’d like to thank Esin for all her sustainability work on behalf of the club and enriching it with her human qualities.”

General meeting later this year

The candidates for the presidential board team will stand for election at the club’s annual general meeting on 15 November, at which the members will decide.
