Sebastian Ohlsson: St. Pauli sign Göteborg right-back

FC St. Pauli have continued work on their squad for the current season with the addition of Sebastian Ohlsson from Allsvenskan outfit IFK Göteborg just before the end of the transfer period. The 26-year-old Swedish right-back has put pen to paper on a deal keeping him at the Millerntor until 30 June 2021.

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann is delighted to have secured the services of the IFK captain: "In Sebastian we've been able to sign a first-division player who was a mainstay at IFK Göteborg. He's an absolute leader both on and off the pitch."

Head coach Jos Luhukay needed no convincing: "Sebastian is a versatile defender. His arrival means we are even better placed for the future."

Commenting on his move, Sebastian Ohlsson said: "I'm looking forward to FC St. Pauli and the new challenges facing me here. I'd like to help the team as soon as possible and will give my best."

Ohlsson, who learned his trade at IFK Göteborg, made 15 appearances (one goal, three assists) for the club this season. In total, the defender has played 48 times (four goals, five assists) in the Allsvenskan, the top Swedish division. The 26-year-old also spent the 2013 season on loan at Örgryte IS before making the move permanent in 2014 (112 competitive appearances, 33 goals, 16 assists). He returned to IFK in 2017.
