Great news on the squad front! Midfielder Waldemar Sobota has agreed terms on a two-year contract extension keeping him at the club until 30 June 2020.

"We're delighted Waldi will be with us for another two years," said director of sport Uwe Stöver. "With his consistency and experience, he's been an important mainstay of the team. We're fully convinced he can continue to fulfil this role in the future."

Sobota also expressed his satisfaction over his continued association with the club, saying: "I've always said I feel very much at home here at St. Pauli and can see myself signing a new deal. I sensed the club really wanted to keep me and I will do my best to repay this trust with good performances. I now look forward to what I hope will be two very successful years at the Millerntor."

Sobota joined the Boys in Brown during the 2015/16 winter break. The versatile attacking midfielder has made 100 appearances since then, scoring ten goals and providing 11 assists.
