BOUHADDOUZ: "WE WERE WORTH THE WIN"

What a finish! A performance full of fight and passion and a late Buchtmann goal handed the Boys in Brown victory over Kickers Würzburg and another three points after last week's win at Nürnberg. Little wonder, then, that the mood in the camp was one of elation after the match. Here are the soundbites from the mixed zone.

Sören Gonther: "Neither side wanted to make a mistake in the first half, so it was clear there wouldn't be many goals today. The first 45 minutes were so-so, but in the second half we showed our determination to land the lucky punch whatever it took. I was put off by the fact that the videowall wasn't working. I always look up during a game to see how long's left."

Aziz Bouhaddouz: "We were worth the win after a first half in which we struggled to get into the game. After the break we were the busier and the better side. We had more clear-cut chances and earned ourselves the victory. We knew it wouldn't be an easy game against Würzburg. Their recent results had all been very close. We've jumped up the table but we know we haven't achieved anything yet."

Waldemar Sobota: "That was a really important win. We pushed each other before the game because we knew what was at stake. The win puts us right back in business in the battle to stay up. We know we have to keep this spirit up, though, because the match at Düsseldorf will be just as important."

Sebastian Neumann (Kickers Würzburg): "We fought really well for 90 minutes and matched them all the way. It was obvious that with the fans behind them St. Pauli would increase the pressure again towards the end."

Marco Königs (Kickers Würzburg): "It was a good performance from us and we were the better team in the first half. It's annoying to go home having lost 1-0."
