Next up for the Boys in Brown after the second international break of the season is a trip to Borussia Dortmund on Friday evening (20.30 Uhr). Scott Banks put himself in the frame for a starting berth with a brace in the friendly against Hannover 96 last week, and after training on Monday he took questions from the journalists in attendance.

FC St. Pauli missed the chance to land their first home win of the season on Saturday evening. The Boys in Brown created more opportunities in the first half but were unable to capitalise and ultimately had to concede defeat to a more effective Mainz side.

Saliakas: "I always give 100 per cent with unremitting passion"
After a stuttering start to the campaign, the Boys in Brown have finally found their feet in the Bundesliga thanks to impressive performances in the scoreless draw with Leipzig and the 3-0 win at Freiburg. Manolis Saliakas also took a while to get going due to a calf injury, but the Greece international is fully fit again and glad to be back involved.

They did it! After gaining our first point of the season at home against Leipzig, our Boys in Brown got the first win of the season away at SC Freiburg. Unsurprisingly the mood in our camp after the final whistle was extremely good.

Good team performance brings first win - Saad shines with a brace
FC St. Pauli won 3-0 away at SC Freiburg on Saturday, gaining a fully deserved first win of the season. Elias Saad (12, 73) and Oladapo Afolayan (45) crowned a strong team performance with their goals, while Nikola Vasilj also saved a penalty from Vincenzo Grifo (41).

Almost two years have passed since the Boys in Brown went to SC Freiburg in the DFB Cup, a game they lost 2-1 after extra-time. The Boys in Brown put in an outstanding performance against Champions League side Leipzig for which they were rewarded with their first point of the season. After the game, the mood was one of satisfaction, even though it could have been three points instead of one.

IMPRESSIVE SHOWING EARNS FULLY DESERVED POINT AGAINST LEIPZIG
FC St. Pauli were held to a goalless draw by Leipzig on Sunday evening. It was an excellent performance from the off that saw the Boys in Brown create a string of chances in the first half. After the restart they continued to impress against the Champions League outfit but were unable to reward themselves with a goal.
